These are some of my amateur reviews. I've posted these to my RYM page as well.

I'm sure these will get better as I make more of them.

Gentle Giant
Giant for a Day
This album gets a lot of hate, and I don't blame those who dislike it. The sound that made them Gentle Giant only barely lingers. Little Brown Bag and Thank You sound like the 70s and 80s pop rock played on the speakers of the men's clothing store I used to work at. Derek's vocals also don't really mesh well with the popular sound adopted for this album. I don't find the tracks offensive, but they lack the quality Gentle Giant was known for. Despite the issues, there are some tracks here worth listening to. Spooky Boogie is a short but fun instrumental, Friends is a pleasant little acoustic song, and It's Only Goodbye draws some positive comparisons to Kansas (instrumentally). And hey, if you own a vinyl copy of this album, you can at least sacrifice the cover for a cool mask if you find the music itself too contemptible.
